And how!

I was coming down the 'scalator at (at least it's not
Wal*Mart) Target this evening and saw this chic'zilla
straight out of an ipod ad, with a white cord coming
out her ass pocket literally skipping around the
store. I tried yelling her name twice but finally had
to whack her with my monster 24-pack of t.p. to get
her attention. And good times were had by all...

That doesn't mean I'm vain, that means I'm cool. iPod + Dancing a bit in Public = Cool. Represent.

hey spencer and whoever else just asked a question. yes there WILL be a trackstand competition it'll probably start at somewhere between 10 and 10:30...in the parking lot at Spring St. Tavern. I'm thinking the custom Jonny Cycles Prince-themed stem would make a fitting prize for the trackstand champ. Amy had wanted to do a skid comp thing too, but hasn't organized or scoped out any of that, so I don't think that's gonna happen.
But the trackstand is for sure.

do you need to ride a fixed gear bike? hells no. I would warn you though, probably best to ride either a fixed OR a geared bike. In weather this cold, I"ve had bearings freeze up on regular single speed freewheel cogs. But maybe that's just because of my mechanical inaptitude.

Well one weather event we won't have to worry about is orange snow. Thank the dogs for that! Those poor Ruskies.

P.S. frostbite sucks and can be very long lasting (permanent?), so please try to avoid exposed skin... Looks like I won't be making it, though, as my bike is still being painted, and I don't feel like taking my brand new road bike out there or going to my mom's to get my Colnago which I would feel very bad if I crashed.

I've got the best dumb question...

Helmets required?

By no means- from the FAQ:

Another word on equipment: Though we canâ??t force you to do anything, the event organizers strongly recommend that you wear a helmet and have functioning rear AND front brakes on your bike. Whatâ??s that you say? You donâ??t have these things? The friendly staff of Behind Bars, One-on-One, Calhoun Cycle, or Flanders Brothers will surely assist you in purchasing the necessary items. Planning to do the all-out, brakeless fixie thing? Well, I hope you know what youâ??re doing because we cannot and will not take any responsibility for your actions during the event.

But, suit yourself!

I'm supposed to wear a suit now?

Do I have to have a tie, too?

I did read the FAQ, but somehow those words eluded me.
