Hello everyone!

I'm posting this message to get people pumped up to come out and volunteer at the May Day parade and Festival this upcoming Sunday the 13th. I know it's Mother's Day, but doesn't mom like fun? We have a lot of volunteer positions that WERE filled for last week before the rain, but no longer are this week!

Just in my extra special piece of the new section of the Festival, Blooming Town (think Transition Towns in art), I need up to 5 people to ride already-decorated Nice Ride bikes in the Parade (bikes are at the Theatre at 15th and Lake, and lineup is at noon Sunday!), and another 2 to help people learn to put their bikes on the bus at our City Bus (a giant Metro Transit Bus reproduction). Shifts for this go from roughly 4pm to 6pm. We even have the Midtown Greenway Coalition's practice bike rack! We need some upbeat and excited greeters at the entrance to Blooming Town, too (4pm-6pm)!

Margery Otto, volunteer coordinator for the whole Festival, is also trying to fill numerous positions around the Park, from educating people at Green Stations about compost and recycling, to helping with set-up and tear-down, and lots of other awesome stuff! She can be reached at motto@hobt.org.
