Howdy all, first post here, wish it were under better circumstances.

We had a wedding last night and had a baby blue tandem we were gonna use as part of our ceremony but ended up not due to the rain. Anyways, took it home, locked it on the car trunk rack here in Uptown, and it got stolen at some point overnight. It was stupid of us to leave it outside even if it was locked up, but we were exhausted and just didn't think about it.

I've got a few pics I've attached of it in case anyone sees it - it's a baby blue tandem with some red white and blue graphics, no brand name on chainguards. I can't remember the brand name or make it out on the photo - if our photographer took better pics at the wedding I'll post them when I get them. The front chain is partially white since it's a combo of a white hain and silver one. It's a single-speed with coast brake and a front hand brake.

It had white tassels and a bunch of bells on it, but that could all have been taken off now.

Please please please let me know if you see this, or if anyone tries to sell it to you! Let me know if you can think of any other info that would help identify it better, and anyplace I should post up flyers!

ugh, that sucks!!

You should have put Harriet out to guard it while you slept.

Maybe my wedding present for you will be to find this...yes!

I'm hoping this leads to hilarious shenanigans where you tape two Huffy's together, spray paint them blue, and then try to pass them off as the tandem. I'm expecting a montage.

I ONLY build things montage style. I grew up watching The A-Team.

This seems interesting:

I emailed the guy, saying I'm interested in buying it and for a photo. If this is my bike - what do I do?

This is what I would do.

Start by filing a police report with the serial number if you have not already. Also look through the photos you have for distinguishing characteristics. When you go to look at the bike make sure you are meeting in a public place and don't go alone. If when you see the bike you realize it is yours tell the person you believe the bike is yours and it was stolen and then call the police. The person will either then flee, become confrontational (hope not) or give you some story about how he found it in his backyard.

Be careful-

hmmm. that craigslist is worth checking out. those 70's columbia tandems were popular. is there any way of knowing for sure that its yours once you see it? any broken parts, chips scrathes that will give it away as your stolen bike?

well, give me a call if there's anything i can help you with, if you need someone to go to columbia heights or whatever with you. i still owe you big time for those two BB's you gave me!

I think I've found this bike. It is on a porch of a home that's been burned, not sure if anyone is living there now. It is on the porch, unlocked. Everything matches, including empty reflector brace. Plz pm me asap.

Kineticgraphics is like Beau, but out on the streets instead of behind the counter.

Crazy! Did you throw a lock on it, or nab it?
