Enough time has passed and I'm sufficiently starved for attention...

Back in December when I was stopped at a red light I was hit hard by a driver who claimed to be blacked out and somehow that made it okay. The cops estimate he was driving at least 40-45 mph. I got pretty jacked up, but it could have been much, much worse. Here's a good pic of one of my most prominent wounds. (I suppose it's NSFW)

My wife says she saw my pelvis. There was a smaller, but also very deep, wound that I was told provided a good view of my spine. Good times.

yikes! Let that be a lesson to all of us on the dangers of obeying traffic laws.

No more to the story though? Driver wasn't cited at all? Any current pain?

Yeah, this never would have happened if I just blew the red light.

There's not much more to the story. Dude rear-ended a car that was stopped behind me with enough force to throw that car 75 yards. I got thrown into the middle of the intersection when fortunately there was a break in cross traffic. The stars were lined up in my favor... I would have been killed dead if anything were a little bit different, so someone up there wants me alive. It sucked not being able to hold my daughter on her first Christmas, but at least she still has a dad. I think the worst thing is this happened a couple blocks from my house, and my wife said she knew it was me when she heard the sirens. I begged the cops to go tell her and bring her to the hospital, but they didn't and no one called her until several hours later. Jill spent several hours calling hospitals, even the one I was brought to, and they all said I wasn't there. She said she thought I was dead.

I don't know if the driver was cited, and honestly I don't care. A hundred dollar ticket wouldn't fix anything. One of the cops came and visited me in the hospital a couple days later and said he checked whatever box on his form that recommends the guy gets his license revoked. Past that, it's out of my hands, and I just hope the guy feels bad enough about what he did that he never does it again. Cause hey, I'm alive, due in no small part to my rock hard biking ass.

That part of it won't be a problem, J. Lawyers are good for something.

No.... you need to design a tatoo to go over it but in a way that makes it look like the surgeon sewed you up wrong -- either off center or with like 5 inches taken out of the middle of the tat. If you are a sissy, you can do it with a temporary tattoo. It will give you something to show the nieces and nephews that they will NEVER forget.
