Come to the first Open Streets volunteer event of 2012!
Help us with a big step to getting the permit for the next Open Streets event. Spend an hour or two getting business and residential support along Lyndale in preparation for a June 10th event on either:
• Fri 3/23, 4pm-7pm
• Sun 3/25, 2pm-5pm
Volunteers will collect as many signatures as possible and leave notification door-hangers. This is a requirement of the application we have to submit to the City.
Arrive any time between 4-6pm on Friday and 2-4pm on Sunday. Each volunteer should expect to take a block or two (and bring a friend—it's more fun to do in pairs!). Last year about 15 people came over three days, and while it was quick work, we'd love to get it done even faster this year!
Let us know which day you'll be coming with an e-mail to
openstreets@mplsbike.org, but feel free to show up even if you don't send a note. Meet at Bull Run Coffee (3346 Lyndale Ave S). We will have someone stationed there for the whole time passing out materials and instructions and collecting block signature forms.
If you want to help out but can't make this round, we'll need more volunteers before and during the day of the event!
