So someone new posts their Nice MTX bike in b/s/t and links to their craigslist ad like so: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/b ... 73808.html Except the link is now broken because PhpBB truncated the link in the middle. The OP can fix this by putting the link in a [url] tag, so that it shows up like this: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/2440573808.htmlCan this truncation be disabled? PhpBB seems to automatically recognize the first example as a link.

Ditto. Expecting every user new and old to know and remember to use the link tags seems to be set up to fail.

Looking into it now. Oddly, on my local testing environment, and apparently here on the live board, it works as it should for me, unless I preview it first, at which point it drops the link completely. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bjorn1101/ ... hotostream

This works fine at first but if you preview or edit your post, it takes the truncated link and tries to make that the actual link. So anyone who posts a long link then goes back in to fix a spelling error gets a bad link after the save. It also mean that if you quote someone with a truncated link, it doesn't work in the quoted text.
