Saint Paul Classic + Lake Minnetonka + 'I might as well go see what's going on at bike polo' = 105 miles. Did it fixed 'cause I'm awesome/stupid like that. NineAces made the trek too.

Correction: endee did it fixed because the bike is so pretty (and because he's awesome): I, however, did not do the 'I might as well go see what's going on at bike polo' loop! Mileage wound up about the same though with my starting point being farther west. Wore the socks in my profile pic, which, according to endee, also function to make it easy to spot me in a sea of cyclists!

Rode to downtown Minneapolis and met Snak Shak near the Stone Arch Bridge. We rode up to the Coon Rapids Dam, staying mainly on the west side of the river. After checking out the Dam, we crossed over and tried to take the trail on the east side. The trail was under water just south of 610, so we doubled back and cut over to East River Road. After stopping at a DQ on Osborne, we headed home in different directions. I went east towards Roseville, and he went south towards Minneapolis. I rode about 40 miles. The wind was from the south at 15-25 mph. It was humid and in the mid-80s. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4543461

from my apartment in mpls to my parents house in Elk River. 43 miles is too long to ride with a 15 pound messenger bag, even a chrome bag... http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4585118

I've found searching bikelove to be a pretty good resource for looking up routes to here or there, so maybe I can start giving back. Found a decent route to lake peppin that a friend and I used to get ourselves to red wing. I made a few adjustments, and this is roughly the route (probably about 53 miles from south minneapolis, avoided highways as much as possible, five-ish miles of gravel between hastings and redwing) Minneapolis to Red Wing

We would have to at least rename this thread.
