Reading that article, it seems that a lot of male cyclists are riding around with numb crotches.

I don't know about you, but if my crotch was going numb during a ride, I think I'd get off the bike and walk for awhile.

Breaking chains has been the source of my worst shots, but this is why I cannot ride a Brooks (I hurt and get numb in my nether regions), but I guess it helps being old.

Numbness is a sign of a poor seat fit, not a poor seat. Seat angle, and width of the seat could both be culprits. A little professional help to make sure you are making good use of your sit-bones is likely all anyone needs.

If you have this issue, go see a pro shop that you trust --preferably one that does bike fitting. I bet they can help with the "nether" issues.

We're on our own with potholes, unfortunately.
