That sounds pretty cool. I think one could ride on the snowmobile trail with a regular MTB with 2.2's as well.

Let us know how it is out there.

I went out on it last thrusday from Stubbs Bay going west, and here are some notes:

- it was too warm - 27F - and the trail was really soft. I was down to about 5-7 psi in my Larrys before I could get enough float to keep going, and even then it was a ton of work. Would not have been possible on a regular MTB.

- The snowmobiles were generally courteous. Only once was a passed by someone going full speed (maybe 30-40 mph). There were, however, a lot of sleds - I lost count at about 20. Not sure if this was a typical weekday as I suspect a lot of people had this day off, but I suspect weekend will have just that much more sled traffic. I don't plan to ride it on a weekend.

- In the morning the edges of the trail were pretty good, but the afternoon it was harder going as the snowmobiles had churned up the trail edge to edge.

- I saw a lot of footprints, and the walkers also discovered the edges were harder, and so punched a lot of boot holes in trail making riding a bit more difficult.

- snowmobiles really smell bad. blech.

The net result is that it might be fun on a really cold weekday, like when its 20 or colder, but otherwise i'll find other places to ride.
