Okay, so I'm gonna put a mud flap on my front fender to protect my BB and shoes from the road grit but what's more annoying is the snow flying forward from the front of the fender and the wind blowing it back into my legs (and most annoyingly down the top of my boots). This is especially problematic with new, dry snow. Brown sugar tends to be heavy enough to drop before I catch up with it.

Before I start drilling holes and making a mess of things, I was wondering if anyone else had a solution they liked.

I'm running Nokian W106s with SKS P45s

Thanks for any input.

If none is to be had, I'm throwing on gaiters on and calling it a day.

I cut down a rear fender from a Cascadia set just to deal with this issue. I've got the mudflap about an inch and a half off the ground, and the front edge is far enough forward to deal with blowback from crap spun off the tire. I need to rig some sort of support for the front side, it's all floppy and annoying. But it works really well.

How crappy of a bike is it, and where is it flying from?

If it's just a winter beater, I'd probably try running some cellophane tape from the front of the fender to the fork tines, making a triangle of cellophane tape.

See if that catches the snow.

I like this idea. I ride a Bryant and have front rack mount mid fork I could repurpose to support the extra fender. I was thinking of getting completed overboard and mounting an entire rear fender until I plowed over a few snowbanks on the way home.

Not. The snow is going out on the sides and up top and curling back around. So I think fender needs to be extended or it would just fly around in my case.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
