It seems like a lot people went down on the glare ice last night and/or today. If you earned a black-and-blue medal of honor from this storm, post the details. It seems like this was a particularly bad day for the cyclists of the Twin Towns.

On my part, I had a glorious spin around the neighborhood - my Nokian Mount & Ground tires held the road fantastically and I really had no trouble at all. Until the end of the ride when I tried to get off the bike. My foot slipped out from under me and I went down like a bag of hammers on my elbow. I think it's okay, but we'll see how it feels in the morning. If it bruises up nicely, I'll post a pic.

I took a spill myself last night and managed to land on my right elbow and left wrist. This was a slip and fall out in front of the garage.

All I got was a bruise on my bicep from the curb - riding no hands and talking to my daughter on the phone was STUPID - oh well - studs for the foreseeable future.

This bruise started blooming yesterday. I fell suddenly while unlocking my bike, landing with all of my weight on my cellphone. It hurt so bad that I had to just sit on the sidewalk for a few minutes to catch my breath. I was at the White Castle near Central and Hennepin. I ended up limping with my bike downtown to catch the LRT most of the way home, and then riding most of the way back home from the 38th street station to 35th and Bloomington. I fell a couple of times on the way home, but falling off of the bike was nothing compared to that first fall. I could feel the bike getting away from me, and managed to land pretty well each time, skidding for a while on my forearms without taking too much more of a beating.
The next day I couldn't move my leg without feeling some pretty serious pain, so I went in to get it checked out. The nurse told me it was probably just a really deep bruise, or maybe a bruised bone, and that I should just drink a lot of water, and take 600mg of ibuprofen/6 hours.
I'm not limping as much, and I can bend my knee a lot more now, but I'm still getting the occasional burst of pretty serious pain. Now it's in my knee and lower leg though. The bruise is on the opposite side of my leg as where I landed, as though it got blasted through.
