Alright kids, punks, and hooligans... It's never too early to start drinking or planning for a good time! Team 1FS can trace its roots back over 5 years (that's, literally, tens of thousands of hours!) -- and was created to bring together like minded folks who love to ride, party, and support a good cause... It was also intended to be strictly a single speed team, originally, though as time went on, a number of exceptions were made to that rule so that more of our friends could ride with us on whatever bikes they had... I make no apologies: if someone wants to ride, I say let them... So, this next year, in a bid to be more open and welcoming to our geared friends, Team 1FS has officially changed its name to Team MSISBS... The more the merrier, I say... For those who want to remain on fixed and singles, my hat off -- I'll be sticking with it, on account of I only have one bike, and it happens to be fixed -- Jess too, I'm sure... We're also planning on having actual team jerseys made this next round, and (for those who still want to roll sans gears) some old school 1FS patches... Can't forget where you come from after all... Another thing: because I almost NEVER think to look at bike love, i created a group on facebook for our team: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=108275319222489and an event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=108316619220471So, there you have it... Hurry... June 10, 2011 will be here before you know it... Cheers, Adam

Seems we have a conflict, someone started a 1fs team already, though that person wasn't riding a one speed and was wearing full spandex.

Dirtyspeed, started a group where?
I have a problem with info being on Facebook. I don't use it and I don't like the fact I have to log into see the info.
If the event info and updates were here no one would have to sign in to read it.

If the event info and updates were here no one would have to sign in to read it. It's actually on the MS150 site for next year. The team list shows both a MSISBS team started by Adam and a 1FS team started by Bria. And I'll keep you informed on the Facebook stuff. I love me some Facebook, in a messy sex way.

I'll do my best to see that all important information is copied to bikelove as well -- but i want to get as many people on board with the team as possible -- and there is simply no way around the fact that, for better or for worse, facebook is a powerful networking tool...
As for Bria's 1FS -- she finished the ride first this year, and didn't know what the new team name was, so by registering for 1FS, she accidentally created a new one... She's going to be riding with MSISBS...
I just want to see the team grow is all... All ideas are welcome...

Hey team! I've missed you! Only 73?? days until we get to rock the Keyboard Lounge. Fundraising is underway, and I'm hoping we can get more team members signed up before the ride. So if you know anyone, with any number of gears, who thinks they might want to ride with us, please start pressuring them now to sign up.
Also, should we talk about team jersey's, or shirts? I'm sure we could get them made for about $20 each. There was talk of making "special" patches for former 1FSers. Like 1%er patches or something. Are we still interested in that? Or should we stick to the spray paint? With the name change we'll need a new flag this year too.
Additional reminder, this year everyone needs to have their $300 (which actually isn't that much) turned in BEFORE the ride or they won't give you your check-in packet/seat on the bus.
That's all I know.
Jess

I signed up just last week. I don't really care about getting jerseys or what have you but I'm not opposed to getting them either. Depending on weather, with the team name change I may be rolling on 20FS this year.
Gotta start fundraising NOW!

Hi MSISBS team!
Looks like the weather team in Duluth missed the memo that summer is here. The Friday night forecast in Proctor shows 44 degrees with rain! If you would like to sleep on a bed in a warm room instead of roughing it in your leaky tent or listening to the snoring of 500 men in the gymnasium, Tami and Phillip have an empty double bed in a hotel room. There is also a pool in the hotel! Hopefully there are two of you that like each other enough to share for one night. Total room cost was $136, so we'd like to split it 4 ways for $34/person. First pair to get back to us is in.
