(post includes worthwhile pic)

Dear Guy on a Really High Seated Bike,

Why must you ride your high seated bike around town? Will not a normal bike do? Are you looking for attention? Did your parents not hold you enough as a baby? Perhaps you want to join the circus.

Guy seated on a really high bike. What moves you so to ride perched so high in the sky? Is it you wanting to look down in disdain at the people below? And how do you seat yourself on such a high mount? Need you a ladder? A jetpack? What happens when you stop?

I despise you on-a-high-seated-bike man. You attention-seeking cyclist. You do not amuse me. You do not amaze me. I am not fascinated by your high bike. I ignore you.

If I had a stick, I would stick it in your spokes. Oh, then how you would fly -- an Icarus on wheels, traveling too close to the sun. And what glee would shine upon me, when I witnessed you tumbling down to the Earth below.

The response:

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/mis/282499739.html

an open letter to the guy-riding-a-high-bike hater.

why must you hate the high seated bike rider? why does he bother you so? did your parents now hold you enough as a baby? Were you frightened by a circus? Does the high seated bike rider speak to your inner demons?

Guy seated on a really high bike hater. what moves you to hate someone who may be different from you? Do you look up in disdain at people on stilts as well? what about tall people? How about Shriners in their little scooter cars? do you walk down the street hating the people who are riding the bikes that are too small?

I fear you, hating the high seat biker. You attention-seeking Craig's List poster. You random secret hater. You torn apart by your own hatreds. You who ignore in an open letter.

You who would strike with a stick, if given the opportunity, and a stick. Like Cain hammering Able to the ground, you will bear the mark of your hatred upon your furrowed brow. you who would gleefully bring down those who would dare to fly higher than you, with their wings of spinning rubber.

(I fully expect to get run over by a guy on a high bike later today...

enjoyed your post.)

The best part is he says "I ignore you". He ignores him so much that he posts a diatribe about the high seated bike man. Excellent.

He ignores him so much, he just happened to
snap a perfectly focused photo of the high seated
bike guy. Maybe he really wanted a pic of that
building in the background and silly h-s-b-g rode
right through the middle of the frame.

i suspect that the poster is a member/lurker of bikelove. no one gets more angry at high-bikes that other bikers (especially fgers, attention, you see!)

also that whole thing about sticking a stick into the spokes to knock him down. most non-bikers would say push him over or hit him with my massive SUVie. or maybe have him smack his head on an overpass.

It's 3 bikes:

-A bamboo mountain bike. Sounds awesome- I couldn't find the
exact kind, but here's another example, minus the rosewood bars and pedals.

-A foldable ladies vintage cruiser (no brand mentioned)
(Supposedly there's a review here.
Not sure why there'd be a bike review on a
motorcycle event's site. )

-A 2006 Giant Kronos road bike that has been to 'Sconie

The bike frame is a street racing frame. It was just spray painted but took a long time and was prepped, sanded, painted, than shine coated. Same goes with the forks and handlbars. Comes with very nice rims and wheels. Awesome deal. Make offer!!! Email for pics.

Forks. That must be an odd-looking bike.

Let us frolic in my totally dope blanket fort

Yes, I know what youâ??re saying, â??dude, that blanket fort sucks.â?? That would not be the first time Iâ??ve heard such short-sighted criticism. Its structural integrity is dubious at best and there isnâ??t a whole lot of headroom. But câ??mon, itâ??s not like Iâ??m a freakinâ?? architect or anything. Besides, this little baby is just a prototype. I have vast resources of cushions for anchoring and blankets in order to maximize square footage. My living room is just waiting to be turned into a totally sweet labyrinth of love.

I am very open to suggestions in respect to design and construction, as Iâ??d like this fort to be a shared vision. Much like the Taj Mahal, its intended that this little beauty will be inspired by a very special lady. Once our shelter is erected, we can move in and work on some of our higher order needs. Or we could just order a pizza and tell ghost stories. Please email me with a picture if you want to be invited to this living room party. It will be sweet.

PS: Iâ??m allowed to have sleepovers.

Here is the spray painted racing frame's FORKS and handlebars.

Looks like Violet Beauregarde's ride.

yeah, fixed gear riders hate it when other people get attention. particularly the ones who take pride in how many times per week they get a shout out in CL missed connections....
