Looking for brakes that have clearance for a fender and to reach a 700c rim - I think.

It would help if you put a wheel in the frame, and measured the distance from the middle of the brake mount on the fork/seatstays to the middle of the rim. That will let us know how long of a reach you need.

I will post an estimate tonight, I don't have a 700c wheel (going to wheel building class on wednesday to build it), but if I measure from the brake mount to the dropouts, and then half the 700c diameter (to the middle of rim), that should work.

Also, if you have a 27" wheel, you could just put that in and just add 4mm. Remember that a 700c is actually 622mm in diameter, and depending on the rim you are using the dimension might change slightly.

Okay, I had already scrapped my 27, so this is my estimate, same measurements front and back...:

380mm brake mount to dropouts.
622 Diameter of wheels (Mavic Open Pro)
311 Radius of wheels
380-311=69mm to the edge of the rim
Rim is roughly 1cm from the edge of wheel, so straight line distance is 69.5.

The picture shows the measurement to be the hypotenuse, so with the width of wheel at 19.6, from center line that is 9.8...

so...sqrt(69.5^2 + 9.8^2) = 70.18cm is the distance from the center of the brake pad contacting the rim to the brake mount.

Someone check my math, though my assumption is the brakes come with more play in them...

WTB: Shimano Nexus 7-speed internally geared hub. Can afford a *reasonable* price. Payday's comin' up, so if you got one to sell, I'm lookin' to buy.

Might also be interested in a SA 5 speed though honestly, I kind of have my heart set on the nexus.

PM me if interested.

A 26.4mm seatpost, any brand, as long as it's not the old school kind that pinches the post. Inexpensive is good, or willing to trade for some java.

Looking for a straight bladed fork for 700c wheels, 1" steerer, the less rake the better. Thread-less would be the best, but I could live with threaded I think. Pretty much a straightbladed track fork, or a 1" steer tubed 29r fork if those exist...

I have an old 1" track fork that needs to be cut down (huge steerer length). Most the paint has been stripped off so it would need paint badly, lugged, 700c, not drilled, and true. PM me if interested.

A front and rear 700c wheel, 135mm rear hub width, 100mm front. For a city/hybrid bike, I don't need anything fancy. Lightly used is good, not looking to spend a bunch of money, but what a decent set of wheels, 8 speed compatible would be nice too.

Hello,

Looking to buy a decent 26-inch coaster brake wheel w/ an aluminum rim to put on my 1960s Schwinn Hollywood. A wheel sized 26x1.5 would be ideal, as it would match the size of an aluminum front wheel I already have. I have seen a few of these coaster wheels online and at a shop, but would like to try for secondhand before seeking out a new one.

If no one on the board can hook you up, check out Grease Pit, Sibley Bike Depot or Mr. Michael Recycles Bicycles for a used one.
