That's right on my usual ride over the Stone Arch Bridge. Um... pretty glad I bus'd it today.

What I should have done
At around 7 AM today during my commute my hat rode up leaving my right earlobe exposed... I thought I covered it back up because my ear was no longer cold, but turns out it just was numb. Now the bottom of my earlobe has 1st or 2nd degree frostbite, though not too bad - it should heal just find. Hurts quite a bit for such a little area and is swollen. I don't think I should have taken the bus, just worn better head/face protection and taken my earrings out.

YEE-ouch... sorry to hear that man. Looking forward to riding again this weekend, but yeah... this cold has been something else. Add cold temps to the cold virus lately... been tough times for riding.

great looking pic. you did a much better job then i always do. i stumble off my bike, try to stare through frozen eyelashes and point a camera at my face. always looks dumb. i like the bsnyc shoutout. there's tons of good blog worthy info on this site, it would be hard to believe that he'd/she'd/it'd not be checking in every so often.

Actually, I had written him telling him that 20F was nothing to rant about even if it
did feel like 4F. (See the day yesterday's blog) I has also sent him a link to the pic.

A snippit of the mail exchange...

Do you get any peripheral vision out of those goggles?

These goggles have a spherical lens. The curvature helps with the peripheral vision.
I can see pretty well but I also have a Take-a-Look mirror so I don't have to look over
my shoulder. Otherwise the side vision is plenty for intersections and the like.
