Its a great idea. 28 of 30 teams at the BFF Scavenger Hunt had no problem bringing it to the end. People get resourceful.

That was even with us having to take a photo of the egg doing something dangerous, too. I think that ours was drinking a bloody mary and then passed out in the gutter under a car wheel.

Though I carried that egg, I'd thought it was hard-boiled the whole time.

How about a tire changing stop? Have a few old steel rims, and some tires and old tubes laying around. The competitor has to take a tire off, replace the tube, put the tire back on and pump it up to 80 lbs.

That has been done, well sort of.

Wasn't it a couple of stupor bowl 8
that they made you show your tube
before getting the stamp?

Someone help me out here.

I've had to do it at a couple, that or take your rear wheel off - fixies and single speeds get the advantage there.

The stuporbowl one I was actually able to get my tire off with just my fingers, I was running a huge 42mm cross knobby. It was quick, but really cold, and I got slush on the inside of my gloves when I went riding agian.

Oops.

What if you're running tubulars? Could you be exempt?

By the way, here's a simple idea based off an earlier one: you can't leave the station until you make the person running it laugh somehow without touching them.

Find a specified intersection on an actual map.... Like something in Eagan or something. Different intersection for each racer.

The trick there would be to keep it fair for each racer. You don't want to make someone ride 6 more blocks than someone else and still have to finish in the same time.

It certainly would be fair to ask for each rider to do something different at the same intersection. Suppose there was a historic marker there. You can probably ask 10 different questions off of the same marker. OR you could make the riders each find different markers from amongst the many at a site (like at Minnehaha falls). It would cut down on the possibility of cheating.

Ah... but I meant just find the intersection on the map - not ride to it.... It would be totally unfair if one person had to ride 6 blocks and another 6 miles....

Go to someone's house and play them at tekken

Drop a bunch of pro-life fliers at an abortion clinic, or pro-choice fliers (do they make these) at a church, whichever the rider is less comfortable with

Go somewhere and get me a pastry

Make Quickdraw a mix cd for the one I didn't

Stops where you have to eat something terrible are the best

Somebody should do a Minnehaha Creak time trial for those of us with studded tires.

I suppose you could also give a time bonus for doing it with slicks, but I think it would still be a disadvantage.

Crafty alley cat:

Sew a button onto a coat. Could be dangerous I guess.

Design a beautiful collage and deliver to the next station, where you'll be handed the one that the last person made (the first racer to get there will get the one that the race organizers made), and then you have to have it on you when you finish. The theme could be seasonal - Xmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.

Correctly measure the waist/chest/inseam size of the volunteer working the stop. Ideal for one male volunteer and one female volunteer.

Make a macaroni necklace which you must then wear to the next stop, where you have to take all the macaroni off and cook it in a pot of boiling water, and then eat the macaroni when it's sufficiently cooked (or at least cooked enough that you can eat it). Bonus cruelty: don't tell them that they'll have to eat the macaroni at the next stop. Okay this one is kinda bizarre.
