I'm movin' to New Orleans in August, and I want to know anything you guys have got.
Rides, Races, Peoples- any tips for riding in the south. I was just there for a week, and only saw a handful of riders. I can ride all winter on my slicks! I found a website for a road club down there, but if there is a site for a more fixie type crowd like bikelove it would be sweet. Now I just have to figure out how to convince my roommate that it is an absolute necessity for me to keep my bike inside, away from thieves and humidity.

I grew up in New Olreans and have friends there. I only rode as kid and got my bike stolen. I used to ride out to the lake and catch crabs.I think i would die now of heat at 41! anyway email me if you like

We had our family reunion in Natchitoches over the weekend of July 4th. It was great, but brutally hot. I spent a couple of weeks every summer in Shreveport when I was growing up. If I lived down there (and I wouldn't mind it a bit) I'd plan on July, August, and September as the months I wouldn't ride! I don't know anyone down in New Orleans, I'm afraid.


I think you'll find a greater disparity in incomes and education levels there than you'll see up here. I'd keep my bike inside. It would be absolutely necessary.
