One thing that I think keeps getting missed in all the coverage of this tragic accident, is why the Minnikada golf club wont allow a side walk or path to be put along that stretch of Excelsior blvd. Maybe it would have made no difference in this situation and I in no means excuse the driver who did this, but why? We have these property owners all over the cities that dont give a damn about access or safety. The Town and Country golf club in St. Paul, right on Marshall and the Lake street bridge is bitching about having to put a bike path on its boulevard on Marshall and Pelham blvd. I guess the well conected are more equal than the rest of us.

Very great point. Any business that refuses to give up a tiny sliver of right away for a path or a sidewalk, is not a business that I have respect for.

You may have noticed that Jimmy Nisser's ghostbike
was removed just after the one year anniversary of
his death. The Minikahda Club asked to keep the bike
as a memorial, and are installing it in the bike rack at
the Club, right where Jimmy always parked.

Wish we could have done the same (maybe at MCTC or South High) for Nik Morton's ghostbike. :(

The owners / LLC of the property right next to it clipped the lock and presumably threw it away, the day of the memorial ride this spring. Svenn might know more...
