No. No, it's not. Javelin throwers, for example, are not welcome to practice using the Greenway. Nor discus throwers, for that matter. Dirt bike riders, not so much, either. I would similarly wag my finger at "everyone" who would use the Greenway as a resource for practicing mounted jousting, golf, civil war reenactments, model rocketry, and lawn bowling, among other examples. Roller skiers who skate across the entire width of the path, poles flailing, blithely unaware of (or studiously ignoring) bells and shouts from those who wish to share the path? The Greenway isn't a good resource for them, either. We really need to find a different place for them. A high school track might work. Or a parkway, or a loop on residential streets.

The greenway is a resource for everyone. Sorry, I was sort of lumping you all together, since I dont really see that many of you... I have to admit, my imagination gets out of control about some things, but I did have a pole tip get VERY close to my unprotected face once when passing and it was an adult who seemed oblivious that he was swinging two very large spears in an arc outward from his body such that a rider coming up from behind him, say from an entrance ramp, might not see it jabbing up into their face until too late. That was an observation that made me question whether that particular sport was really a good idea in that space. Other skiers I have seen do stop poling when I passs them, or seem to pole in a much less dangerous seeming manor. MSPD wrote: I'm on the Greenway all the time. I love going fast there. Really, really fast. I commute it and I ride it for fun. But for crissakes when there's a family or kids or ANY slower rider or any sort or just groups of people in general, I slow the fuck down. Personally, with kids, I make a point to pick out a feature...ANY feature and make a positive comment SPECIFICALLY so they don't feel like they "slowed the fast guy down". "Cool helmet!", "Awesome bike!", "Great basket full of Barbie dolls!" Whatever. Maybe a high five, then I go on my way. I love seeing groups of kids out riding where I ride. We NEED TO have groups of kids out riding where we ride. It's places like the Greenway and our other great places to ride that are developing the next generation of people that need to get from point-A-to-B for WHATEVER reason. I'm raising three myself (5, 8 and 10) and they put a combined 50+ miles on those trails on Saturday and who knows how many more on my neighborhood streets. Yes, this^^!! It just really sucks that there are dumb/mean/inconsiderate humans ANYWHERE. Some happen to frequent the Greenway. Obviously none of you though Oh yea, and TOTB(eer) to y'all. I tipped some.. ok quite a few, this weekend for ya.

I was self wagging! I actually yelled: "Get a car hippie!" No I didnt. I yelled: "You are not in a car!" Which kinda works with your texting For what its worth, My dog cannot run herself to the Minneheha Falls dog park, so I give her a lift. Also: TOTH to Ted Welter for the recumbant seat!

WOTF to the jury duty summons... Derp
TOTH to a possible bike commute to downtown & getting to exchange Bike Loves.
Anybody been to jury duty lately? It's been years since I was called for duty and they paid mileage ... If I bike to the court house, do I still get mileage ?

Pro tip: set yourself up with the call-in status. You have to call in twice a day to see if they need you and you never actually have to go unless they call. I did that earlier this year and they never called me in after the two weeks. It's WAY better than sitting around the gov't center waiting to be called.

Don't get your hopes up for call-in, that all depends on the time of year and caseload, and yes they pay for mileage (center of the area code to the courthouse i believe). They also hand out some free bus passes BRING READING MATERIAL

WOTF to it starting to get dark so early. Got stuck at work until 8:30pm and had to use my bike lights on the way home. TOTH to riding the Greenway part way home. It was fantastic as usual. Almost as many peds & joggers, as bikers. Bill.

Thank you kn_mpls and FreeRangeZombie. I will be setting up the call-in (if possible). I will enjoy getting mileage and biking in to downtown! Take the mileage check to The Four Firkins on the way home!

My grandmother had all of her teeth knocked out by a grown man when she was 15 because he had similar feelings about the Irish being places. It was hilarious. But, I know you were just trying for something else, so it's cool.
