Off-peak hours it seems people are trying their best to avoid driving on the green lanes, which can be good or bad. I imagine this is a good development for us.
Are people still parking in the middle of the bike lanes? I suppose one way around it would be to reflag much of the right side of Hennepin as fire lanes.

Today I witnessed lane splitting and sidewalk riding along Hennepin Ave in downtown. It seems like no one knows how to ride along that street any more. It really sucks and the cars seem to have taken it over. The green paint for the bike lane is all washed away.

Not surprised.
I think we need another group ride down Hennepin...

All Hennepin needs is a good portion of the city council to use it daily for commuting.
The problem will fix itself then. Either they'll wise up, or after their tragic traffic deaths, the new batch will be wiser.

Take this survey, which gives plenty of room for criticism of the "green stripe" on Hennepin Ave. https://bikewalktwincities.wufoo.com/forms/downtown-transportation-and-bicycling-survey/

Hi, I wish to voice the opinion that the Hennepin Ave redesign is less friendly to experienced bicyclists, a bottleneck for Northbound drivers, a less than ideal compromise for Southbound drivers, and about the same for public transit drivers.

In addition, I think the First Ave redesign shares the some of the same direction-specific, driver-frustrating effects as Hennepin with the added benefit of parking spaces who's physical and time-oriented boundaries are less than easy to learn for those unfamiliar. Also, pedicabs are fat.
