1st fall of the year on the way in today.

Couldn't have been stupider, caught a shoelace on the nose of the saddle while dismounting to carry the bike across a snowdrift..

sorry... but this did make me laugh, mostly because that's the kinda thing I would do. Hope the ego is the only thing bruised.

edit - FreeRangeZombie posted a nice picture of his home-brew laces-garage with a zip-tie and some Velcro. Might help you...

Worked like a charm this morning :)

ALMOST fell coming off of the Hwy 62 path going out to EP this morning. Once while trying to navigate the awesomeness that they just brushed off the overpass onto the bike trail and then again about 40 feet later just getting over the snow plow pack. The second one was more embarrassing since i basically just tipped sideways while walking my bike.

Got myself off the nice warm bike trainer today...headed out for a real ride, stud tires and all. Ride went great, warm enough, fun, everything was great-even the face down snow angel I made after falling into a death rut. I am sure the bruises will heal soon! Cheers!

Had a bit of a half fall on the way home. Hit a rut after crossing the road. Ended up tossing the bike into a bit of a drift and jumping off to the side. Landed feet down and stayed standing.

Nice job. No standing backflip to finish it off?

The Ukrainian judge only gave me a 4.

No falls yet (knock on wood), but I did take off my rear studded tire and threw on a x-cross and went to FW w/dual dick brakes, instead of the fixed/stud/front brake only I have been running. I anticipate some slippage and falls, but maybe after this snow today gets packed down a bit, and ices over.

We are depending on you to get a video. And play Chariots of Fire in the background.

Dumped it last night. First of the winter. Bike hit a ridge on Summit, my bike stopped, and I slid into home base. Quickly got my bike out of the bike lane and started to collect my pannier...

...and drivers that were in the oncoming lane stopped rush hour traffic to HONK and roll down their windows to yell, "ARE YOU OKAY?!" "HEY LADY, ARE YOU OKAY?!" This is while the cars in the direction I was travelling slowed, but kept moving. I just told them, "Please keep driving," because, what are they going to do?

Since the first snowfall back in october:

Road Falls: 7
Off-Road falls: 4
Total Winter Falls: 11

Three of the off-road falls were this past weekend. One fall was a good "didn't see that coming fall." The second and third were both caused by me looking for the moon.

My goddamn headlamp mixed with sleep deprivation. Each time that I'd look upwards, I'd see something bright above me. About 90% of the time I'd be all like: "Oh, just my headlamp - that's annoying." The other 10% of the time I'd be all like: "OH, OH HEY! Hello Moon! You're finally out." I'd immediately look up and kind of like a dog chasing its tail look up even more and more and more until I'm looking almost at the sky behind me. Then, suddenly - I'd feel the rumble of the ungroomed sections of the trail I was definitely steering my bike off into. Sometimes I'd catch myself and we'd be good - other times - yeppers peppers - tuck and roll!

Today was my first fall for 2013!

So I'm crossing under Hwy 62 on the unofficial LRT (boot-packed trail), I go in at speed, head says "let's go to the right", but the bike is all like "going the left seems really cool". Next thing I know, hello ground... How's it going.

No damage to bike or rider (at least nothing Advil can't handle).

Damn GoPro battery crapped out 5 minutes prior to my best entry into the falling contest... derp
