Great pics!
I can't wait to get back to that area and fix all the stuff that is falling apart. Haven't been able to do anything there for over four years now.

Where should this bit of info about a citizen advisory committee about brownie lake go? 10/25 at Kenwood Community Center, 2101 Franklin Avenue West 6:30-8:30 pmhttp://twitter.com/#!/MplsMoto/status/128570361439715328http://twitter.com/#!/MplsMoto/status/128570813669580800

I just sent a comment asking that they rework the bike path between Wirth and Cedar, which has to rank among the top 10 worst sections of bike path in Minneapolis.

From MOCA trails: Quote: It's been 12 years now that we've been working towards a complete trails system from North Wirth to Cedar lake - and the decisions made by the public and the MPRB will determine whether or not we get it.
Matt Moore, Mara Larsen, myself and a few others have been holding down the fort here at MOCA - but we're maxed-out. The rest of you need to come together to get this thing over the hump.
Matt Moore and I are deep in the political process at the moment, Matt on the Wirth Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and myself on the Brownie Lake CAC - and I'm also on the SW Wirth working group (which reports to Matt's CAC).
SW is what we're after - it's the hilly area on the west side of Theo Pkwy between 394 and Glenwood Ave. Best terrain in the city, and we stand a really good chance of getting it.
The CACs and the design charrette process will determine the citizen and staff recommendations that will go forward to the Minneapolis Park Board - for the 20 year plan.
We as MOCA, need two things.
1. A small group of capable and dedicated individuals who can put together a plan and presentation for the MPRB. Writing and creative skills are a requirement.
2. Supporters - who can organize other supporters. Go to CAC meetings, organize communications to Park Board Commissioners, and even the press.
Step up. It's now or never. Time to put some effort towards your trails.
