There's just something so sporting and awesome about this Peugeot UO-8 build. I've been on the lookout for an orange one ever since I saw this picture.

That Peugeot reminds me of my path racer obsession. I really need to build one...

This one desperately needs a more 'used' saddle, but otherwise just about perfect.

Saw one of these on Craigslist tonight. Now I will dream about having one everyday until I have one. I accept wholly that getting tubes, spokes, and rubber would be a major pain in the ass.

We called these things "cat draggers" in the late 70's/early 80's. My parents gave mine (60's raleigh frame/campy front wheel/coaster brake SS in a 27" rear/same kind of flipped bars) to my sister's boyfriend while I was touring the US in severe decadence. Glad they are still out there - really nice bike

Bridgestone XO-1 with S&S couplers from Cars-R-Coffins sometime this past summer.

If I could only have one bike ever to do everything it would be something like this.

Weird, I was looking at the Cars-R-Coffins website, and they call this frame a Mixte:

I've only been using the term "mixte" for a frame that has an extra pair of stays, that go all the way from the rear fork to the head tube, replacing the traditional top tube.

Is "mixte" just a generic term for any step-through frame?

What is weird about that bike, even though it has the extremely frightening drilled seatpost & rims(!), is that it isn't too extreme; where are the drilled dropouts, milled crankset, brakes, etc? Even that bedazzled chainring could use some more holes...

You realize by posting that in this thread, it has officially become the bike you want, but can't have.

So maybe someday I could build this bike, but right now it is out of my price range. Aesthetically almost perfect! It just needs a sexier fork.

Post the source for your images too. I want to know the parts/history on some of these bikes.

Drilled dustcaps on the hubs! Extreme! Why not just remove these now useless items altogether and save even more weight?

I do like that seatpost though.

Jeff posted this on his blog a while back.
With some studs that might be a perfect winter bike IMO.
