Yawn, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... ... is the length of your answer inversely proportionate to the length of the question? I knew I should have left it short (and left out the shit I THOUGHT WAS FUNNY! BLAH TO YOU) I know this is not meant to be taken as serious advice, buuuuuut..... c'mon, cut the feelgood, handholding, buy everyone a coke crap; we all judge by superficial things... that is why we are not all wearing identical jumpsuits like our commie brethren. Without criteria to judge others by, we could never really distinguish ourselves. Our differences, and the preferences for certain things over other certain things is how we have gotten where we are as a society - which could be considered a good thing or a bad thing. These are just some of the easily identifiable things that are easy to stereotype and distinguish by. Beer, clothing and sports are just subsets of everything else and can help roughly distinguish a potential flake and posturing a-hole, from a... different Flake and Posturing A-hole, such as myself. Im a bit miffed that you are characterizing me as a shallow POS, that only cares about such things though... they were handy stereotypes to explain that I do not fit with that crowd, nor would I want to date somone that expected such things. If that is all there is available, "that" crowd, I think Ill start riding horses instead... then I can deck out in all denim... SEE! Ill bet that just conjoured some images of what you think of horse riding, denim wearing... For the record: I prefer Black label, for my shit beer, sculpted facial hair for MY face type, a little room in my pants to let the jubblies breath, and move and not be so much on display, even though they belong in a museum (as a perfek specimen). Also, bikes is bikes is bikes... but admit it, you would be pretty disapointed if your date couldnt keep up on your midnight ride-date around calhoun, ending in a nekid dip in the mudhole... bc his bike is a POS... So there. Nyeah. Fuck Im a loudmouth... PS- dont knock the swagger... you know you like the sway of this boat.

JenNastix wrote: And, I think upon reading, you’ll find that [the dating thread is] probably the least likely thread from which to procure an actual date. A precedent was set there a LONG time ago, and, from what I can gather, serious inquires need not apply.
FWIW, I (a man) did get a date (with a woman) out of the dating thread. We went out, rode our bikes, went to dinner a few times, did some other date-type activities, and then decided that it wasn't really developing into anything romantic. Such is life, and everything seems to have worked out for both her and for me. Back on topic: JenNastix, Anyone can come up with advice they wish they'd have followed 10 years ago. That's childs play. I think you should explore the other direction. What advice do you see yourself 10 years from now wanting to give to yourself right now? Oh, and can I keep some of the hot dog monsters at your place after I run out of room in my basement?

There is no real advice column ever worth taking seriously, except Dan Savages'

Quote: Im a bit miffed that you are characterizing me as a shallow POS Nah, actually, I characterized you as someone who has read this thread. Quote: What advice do you see yourself 10 years from now wanting to give to yourself right now? hahahaha, I guess it would be: Responding to criticism is only constructive IF that criticism was meant to encourage you to be better. And, respond to that criticism with gratitude.

Holy shit! Chalk one up for open plan office, eh? I would know if a co-worker died. I often see one co-worker napping in his chair, hand on his mouse. So maybe BDoves fear of cubes is justified? Dont get attached to cubedwellers? fafnir wrote: JenNastix wrote: Well, as long as you don't work in a cubicle, I think I know someone who would go out with you... maybe. . http://www.newser.com/story/112142/work ... r-day.html

JenNastix,
When are you forming your own religion, JenNism, and what will the rites, creeds, and funny costumes be?
