If I had an opossum infestation, I would just burn the house down and start over.

yeah she had to get several stitches and rabies shots and then had to raise her house on blocks, and rebuild most of the walls.

At least it wasn't armadillos. They are like EVERYWHERE down there, and are the only animal besides people that carry leprosy. Though I've been told they make outstanding pets, if you get 'em young.

I was paddlin' my kayak (Yes, I know it's not a bike. It's still human-powered! Gotta count for something!) on 4th of July, just upstream from the Stone Arch Bridge, when I noticed movement in the rubble on the North bank. OMG OTTERS!!

They were really curious about me, didn't seem to know what I was; kept swimming around me and making that cute "Bnarr, Bnarr" noise they do. Finally they got bored with me--I had neither bukkit nor fish-- and went back to what they were doing, which seemed to be dunking each other and then boning out.

They are surprisingly big; the adult was over 4 feet long and the half-grown kits were about 2/3 that size.

OTTERS!! Fine fat sleek healthy playful critters, in Downtown Minneapolis!

Pretty sure I saw a snapping turtle near Stillwater yesterday. I'll post pictures tonight. Also saw lots of dead nature (deer, raccoon, mice?, etc.)

saw a possum scurry across lyndale a few nights ago around 2am. cute little bugger.

I saw one last night in my alley at about 22nd and Girard. I almost stepped on it. It wasn't a little possum either. I saw a few when I lived up north. This was the biggest one I've ever seen. For a second I though it was a giant rat or a raccoon. When my eyes adjusted to the light I realized it was a possum.

I want to get a picture of this thing.

That hawk better look up every once in a while. There had been a coyote around there.

I saw a rafter of seven turkeys this morning in Roseville. No camera, unfortunately.
