i was on the greenway at about 3:20 am today, i got on at bryant and headed west. about a block later i came across a rainbow shopping cart that had been thrown there from the bridge above -it was all smashed/dented from the fall.

as far as i can tell no one was hurt by it, thankfully. i moved it off the path and onto the grass.

I was walking through the Uptown Market yesterday, and the wind took one of the tents there and blew it onto the Greenway in about 3 seconds. I don't think they weighed it down properly.

was just riding home from longfellow grill and someone threw a shopping cart off of the 13th street bridge onto the greenway. luckily their timing and aim is bad enough that it didn't hit myself or my girlfriend.

called it in to 911, told them it was the 13th street bridge and the greenway.

super awsome.

big red metal shopping cart, had it hit one of us...who knows?

Hmmmm, I was riding on the Greenway about 7:30ish - there was a red cart just west of Midtown Freewheel, unfortunately, I can't remember exactly where. Wastn't as far as Garfield. I came down the 10th ave exit and headed west. I ran into the Trail Watchers just after that - I wonder if they put it on their report.

Mentioned this to my husband, who was riding home from the U around 6:30 or 7:00 last night. He says that he saw a cop car on the Greenway in that area.

If this happened on 35W or 94, I imagine that it would be a big deal, with fingerprints and all. Wonder if they check for fingerprints when a shopping cart gets dropped onto the Greenway.

yeah this was the bridge immediately before freewheel (13th ave). it was about 7pm when it happened. it landed in the walking section of the path.

I remember that now - I must have ridden thru after you. There were at least three different sirens echoing thru that area about that time. Echoes were quite distorting. The night before Thanksgiving is traditionally a very busy one for law enforcement.

I kinda hope the cart-tossers jumped in the cart and rode it down.
