This Saturday come join kn_mpls and I for a rare afternoon lap around the Punishment Loop. You'll be treated to 70 miles of beautiful and wonderfully torturous hills on some of the best roads in the state. kn and I are treating this as a training ride for the Almanzo, so come prepared for a quick pace and limited breaks.

Everyone is welcome to join us, but please understand this will not be a no drop ride. We're not going to be heartless f*&kers either, just come ready to ride fast. If I have to throw out a number, I'll say we'll shoot for a 18 mph average. So if you're worried about keeping pace, or if you're faster than kn and I, I'd recommend coming with a cue sheet. If enough people speak up I could use company resources to make a few cue sheets, but don't tell my boss.

Meet at the Como Streetcar Station at 5:00, roll shortly after. As usual, all interested participants are welcome to join us for a fire and a beer or three at my place, close to the ride start.

Don't let the name of the route or my description deter you. People should come. This route is amazingly fun and quite challenging and after finishing the beer will taste much, much better than usual.

Upon further consideration, edit for 5:00 start.

This will be fun. Don't forget your lights.

Very little interest in a long, fast paced evening hill ride ending with free beer?

It doesn't look like anyone was planning to come, but the Punishment Loop appears cancelled. Stupid f^&king rain.

Kn and I will likely ride within city limits when the rain clears out so if anyone wants to come let me know so we can arrange a meeting spot and make sure we have enough beer.

70 hill miles turned into a beer cruise on the Low Road. Within a minute of descending into the reserve we saw three deer, a heron, a beaver, and a carp that was still technically alive because we scared the heron away from eating it. I probably only bruised my arm by falling into the down tree, so that's good. Crap, does it hurt though. Would have never happened if I had a Pugsley.
