actually thats what what im wanting to get plated (motorcycle parts) and i am trying to avoid the custom motorcycle shops if possible.

I just spoke to one of my friends whose family is in the plating chemical business (WD Forbes Co.) and his father recommended Hard Chrome Inc.

What are you looking to get chromed? I would say that hard chroming should generally be reserved for engine parts and pistons, stuff that goes through nasty nasty heat cycles and severe temperature changes (or things that you don't want to ever corrode, but don't have to expand and contract suddenly).

Well there you go! :P

I guess I'm just wondering why you're avoiding the motorcycle shops...?

Chrome is for everything sir!

I'd love to have a completely chrome bike. I'd even suffer through riding on a chrome seat if I could.

Ok, chrome does look great with some really sexy high gloss black as well, so a synthetic black seat can work.

An all chrome bike would be sweet though!

I've had parts for work plated at Cooperative Plating in Saint Paul. The minimum charge with any masking is around $100 but they do small parts with a quick turnaround.

if you ARE looking for an ALL CHROME BIKE look, there are some options aside from actual chrome plating (extremely toxic process, by the way). Depending on the material that your frame etc is made of, it can be treated accordingly, sanded, buffed, and ultimately polished to a chrome-like finish. You can also have steel or aluminum clearcoated after it has been sanded. Just a thought. :)

J&D Plating. I don't have their number handy, but they do some guitar parts for me.
