Awesome job - the one change that should be made on the pdf is to put the complete URL for the bikelove topic, i.e.:

More discussion on the memorial ride can be found on the community message board Minneapolis Bike Love: http://www.mplsbikelove.com/forum/viewt ... &sk=t&sd=a

Here is the link to the Handbill PDF. Print it out and hand it out.

Thanks to Bjorn for donating his time to the handbill design.

Here is that same design cut into 2x2 small handbills. Good for handing out in crowds as opposed to that poster.

Handbills for Memorial ride

I have officially released the hounds... It's on the Facebook group, it will soon be sent to South High community band members, and I put it up at work (Capella). I'll try and get one to South High tonight and hit up some bike stores and coffee shops.

I am having a metric shit ton of handbills printed. If you want to pick some up I will be at Corcoran Park for Polo from roughly 5:30 to 7:30pm.

I know it's too late to change the press release, etc., but I wanted to point out that the use of the word "accident" should be avoided. A more accurate term to use is "collision" or "crash". The use of the word accident is something that's deeply embedded in our culture in traffic collisions, but it takes away the personal responsibility of those involved in a crash.

It's kind of like saying we expect motor vehicles to run into and kill bicyclists or like it's normal collateral damage. I don't mean to start a big debate on semantics again, but I feel this is important and a part of fixing the problems we face as a community. I still make the language mistakes myself from time to time. I know how engrained these things are in our culture and our minds.

See you all on Saturday. . .

There are several different routes up to Blaine that can be made to work. Keep in mind that when they say 'Clover Leaf and Central,' they don't actually mean MN65, sometimes known as Central. It's actually about a block west on Clover Leaf, near the entrance to Aquatore Park, where the accident happened.

(There's a ton of paint in the intersection at MN65 and Clover Leaf from a 3-car collision, no bikes involved.)

You may ask: "Why is that street called Central too?"
Probably why every second street near Como Park has Como in the name: to confuse the non-natives.

Saturday is a really busy day for me but I would love to join this ride if even for a bit. Once the details are worked out can you create a route map and send a link to that as well so that people joining up mid ride might be able to find the group easier?

There's not much for content yet, but the site is finished:

www.ghostbikempls.org

I didn't really know what to put up on the individual pages, it's just the info from the obituaries.
