Has anyone here heard about this project? I know it's in St. Paul, but I figure some of you ride the Gateway. MN-DOT is going to rebuild 35E from Arlington down to University Ave in the near future (2013).

I know that there will be a lot of talk about changes and a lot of changes surrounding the Gateway Trail.

Since then, I've learned a few updates which were announced in a Ramsey County Commissioner meeting:

*MN-DOT does not plan to rebuild the Gateway Trail bridge over 35E. Their plan is to tear it down during the 35E project and put a 12 foot trail along one side Arlington Ave. It sounds like the Arlington bridge may get rebuilt as well.

*MN-DOT does not plan to rebuild the existing pedestrian/bike underpass under 35E which is roughly around where Case Ave is.

*MN-DOT does not plan to realign the Gateway Trail along 35E as part of this project, like their plans show. MN-DOT plans to put in a tunnel underneath Maryland but they want the DNR to come in later to re-align the trail. The tunnel would be closed until the DNR comes in and does this. Sound familiar?

So basically, MNDOT is screwing us. Again. MNDOAutomobiles is really what they are to us.
