The city is looking at converting Humbolt and Irving Avenues North into a Greenway. There's no funding or anything yet, but the city is looking for feedback. The online survey is located at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NorthMplsGreenway.

More information can be found here.

So awesome and all, I don't live in the area, so this would be an area that I would mostly pleasure ride. However I am curious if anyone who has greater knowledge can speak to how the on-street parking is being relocated. In my S. Mpls neighborhood, I would love to live right on a greenway like this, however, I also need my on-street parking place out front as I don't have alley access for my family car. If the city was just looking to tear up the road in front of my house without any alternative for parking, I would have to come out against that project.

On street parking is a good question and will need a good answer if you're going to get this project accepted by the people that live on the new greenway.

I'd like someone with more knowledge then me to speak up (you likely know, I'm not reliable). BUT... I understand that they plan the North Mpls Greenway to take design ideas from the Milwaukee Ave area in Seward - http://goo.gl/maps/lPdVe

For additional parking you see where E 22 St crossed Milwaukee, they added small parking lots.

I spend a good amount of time in this part of Seward, my daughter live at Augsburg. When I get together with her, we end up a Pizza Luce more often than not. The street parking in this area Seward is not too bad, street parking is much harder to find on the other side of 94 in Cedar-Riverside area.

An obvious issue, Milwaukee is only 2 blocks and the North Mpls project is going to be MUCH longer.
