So I've got 105 on my Cross Check, is it worth the $$$ to upgrade it to Ultegra?

WTB 54-56cm road bike. Looking for something light and fast for doing my daily commute on. Needs to be able to fit 700x38s with fenders. Trying to keep it under 20lbs. Looking to spend about $200-300. Let me know what you have kicking around!

I have nothing against ChrisAdyNelson. I just am satirizing the tendency of this forum to become more of a circlejerk than a source of unique information. Edit: I now see that a few hours after my post, you said are looking for a 56-58cm road bike. I am not trying to single out this post, but rather ridicule the 181 posts this search yields. You, sir, are on the right track by reasonably figuring out what you need, setting an appropriate budget, even throwing out some examples, and most importantly, buying new. There seems to be a misconception here that a lot of averaged-sized men on this forum have great bikes sitting around, unused, ready to sell for much less than they're worth.

You just hit on all my favorite subjects. Just funny.

Hey guys, opinions on Chrome vs Mission Workshop? Which is better, messenger or backpack? How waterproof are they? Does that little reflective patch on the Mission Workshop bags really do anything? What are the working conditions like for the workers? Are they compensated fairly? The bags are so expensive, where can I get them on sale? Are they vegan? Are they local? Do I have to open them to store my U-lock? Are they good for someone who commutes 4 miles each way 5 days a week? How do they hold up in the winter? Can I wash them? I have an iPhone 5 with an Otterbox Defender case, what holster will fit my phone and this bag? How many groceries will they fit? Does anyone have one I can borrow for a couple months to try out? Is there anything else I should be looking at? Does anyone carry them locally? Will they hold my 17" Macbook Pro With Retina Display? Is the liner replaceable?

Hey guys, I'm debating between the Alfine 8 and the Nexus 8. Does anyone have any input? This would be for use on a bicycle.

Neither use dick brakes or widgets or Apps, just good ol 'Murican kneebow grease. As for bars, look at the bars on this puppy.
