downtown criteriu. no lights, no more than 4 stop signs. so an all out sprint.
bring your helmets, lights and preferably a freewheel. 5 dollars. first second overal cash prizes, first female gets prize.

This sounds like fun! Back when Hennepin and 1st were one-ways, I'd fantasized about doing a rush hour crit downtown.

One thing that I find interesting, in the Red Hook crit in NY, they require fixed gears, no brakes for safety...but that race is at night and on some really gnarly roads. The theory is you don't want someone up front locking up their brakes and causing a pile-up.

I want to see some crit racing in mpls (like a lot of us) but only 4 stop signs, so you must be going around one block, maybe two?

There's a ton of traffic around Portland, especially at the W. River Rd. intersection. You might consider reversing the loop. That way you won't have people bombing down Portland into a busy intersection, and the finish will be a nice downhill.
