thesuperrookie wrote: but maybe hereNT has some extra copies if you want one for the memories. Nope, 301 copies is all that were made, and the 1 is in my pocket. Next year though... I'm working an angle on some super durable paper that doesn't tear or crease or anything. I didn't have enough of it this year, and next year it might have to be a smaller design... But the paper is the SHIT! thesuperrookie wrote: meg did a sweet job.
Agreed - I think the Buzzard helped a bit too... I was amazed at the number of people out, even with the cold...
See you all at brunch tomorrow!

I had an awesome time yesterday and thought it was a great race. Hats off to MegD and AmyC and the army of helpers and volunteers and stop personnel and businesses and stuff! I'd like to especially thank Lara a.k.a. MGMT for running the stop at Burlesque/First Amendment.
I was really surprised at the turnout and totally thought there wouldn't be as many people out riding. Way to brave it out MPLS (and the world).
I was disappointed that I missed two stops...I really wanted to finish the course. Oh well, next year I'll remember to use low-temperature grease
I can't wait to see Aaron Wojack's cheese pictures.

Half of us were a bit cold too. In fact, it was the first time all day that I was cold. All of the condensation inside of my clothing finally had a chance to cool down enough to freeze. Didn't the rules say that no name on the manifest means a DQ? I know it wasn't your fault that the Foundation's entry plan is retarded, but I don't think you need to lambaste half of US because YOU were cold when it was THEIR fault. That said, thank you for your apology. Speaking of the Foundation's entry plan, why, oh why, didn't they have the door guy downstairs and the manifest collection inside? I can't find a single solitary good reason. thesuperrookie wrote: meg did a sweet job.

I was one of those dumb fucks.
But thanks to the SR I also did'nt get dq'ed. I think I have done 9 Stupor Bowls, it's always the one thing that gets you in the end. I lost 3 places because of it. And to think that I was a bicycle messenger once..., wait, twice.., nope, three times.
All the stops were excellent with the exception of the finish. I agree the Foundation entry plan was fucked.
I had a great time!

Man, I think I left my bag of post race snacks at foundation. Chocolate covered pretzels, GORP, granola, and a banana. Oh, how I miss thee!
I may even stop by tonight to see if they hung onto it (doubtful). I think they liked us about as much as we liked them.

Photos with very little actual racing content. A few from the checkpoint (we were at Mackenzie).

I don't know the color, I have to get in touch with Chuck from Behind Bars to find out the size to order. It's just the frameset, not a whole bike.
I was totally shocked. They brought me and SummerInside up, thanked us for all the marketing and printing and web shit and whatever, then gave us bags of swag. I was just getting to my seat when they pulled the first number out of the bowl, and...
For the first time in three years of doing all the printing under the table for this race, I got something back other than personal satisfaction at making everything look great. I'm fucking stoked about it. I've never ever owned a new frame, everything has been used. The bike I'm riding now was actually a trade for a MTB threadless stem, and it's way too big and heavy.
I think I'm going to love the shit out of it when it's built up.
