I would like to get another pair of wool tights but do not know which brand to get. I tried Icebreaker two years ago and tore through the crotch quickly so durability for daily cycling is key. Any help is appreciated.

I was VERY happy with my decision when I spent the money to get Smartwool. Pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion.

Women's Smartwool tights have fun designs, too.

Smartwool and Ibex has been good to me. Avoid Terramar.
Ibex recently had a 50% off sale, it may still be happening...

I bought a couple pairs of merino wool long johns and a sweater (brand name Stoic) on deep discount off steepandcheap and they've made me appreciate Smartwool that much more. The Stoic stuff isn't bad, but Smartwool is sooooo comfy and worth every penny.

I've been wearing Patagonia Capilene for a few years now. Though it's not wool, it wicks and keeps me warm wonderfully. I wish it eliminated odor like wool does.

Ibex is a win because even if you wear the product out, they will replace it for free.

Still reasonable, but it certainly doesn't have the same weight as free replacement.

I have some Icebreaker stuff. It's ok but they all leave a little bit to be desired.
The next to skin gloves wore holes in the fingertips within a year of winter riding. The underwear seems to be made for ken dolls The sweater has thumb holes but it shrank the first time I washed it so they're not long enough to be used.
I got em all on sale so you get what you pay for. Will be buying Ibex or more Smartwool next.

A little off-topic... bike pants/shell for winter riding: what do you like? I have a few combos I go with: O2 Nokomis pants as wind breaker with Novaro tights or very cold (under 10 degrees) I have a pair of 686 snowboard pants liners. The O2 pants leave a little to be desired, since they are primarily rain pants and have little thermal qualities. I would like to find a better shell/pants for winter riding.
