Stolen from the rack below the Midtown Sheraton right off the 28th Street Greenway on Sat 7/21 between noon and one in the afternoon.
This is the carbon fiber Maillot Jaune: frame is bright yellow faded to deep purple around the bb; black carbon fiber fork; red Cinelli cork tape; Moots ti seat post; Spinergy Spox wheelset with yellow spokes; red Vittoria tires; Ritchey clipless pedals; Ultegra 9 spd gruppo...
I ride around all over town ALOT and have NEVER seen this frameset anywhere in the cities. If you see this bike, it is mine without question - this build is utterly unique and extremely distinctive. It took me years to save for/build this bike up and I would like to get it back if possible.
If you see this bike being ridden, please call the cops right away with location and description of rider. (I wouldn't mind having this info too, if you don't mind calling me or e-mailing me). If you see it for sale somewhere, please let me know as soon as possible. Phone [612.481.1061] or e-mail [ccfix@bitstream.net].
I appreciate all the extra eyes out there. Thieves suck - period.
Thanks again for helping me get my trusty steed back - I have to keep believing that will happen....

Didn't vote in the poll because there's no merciless face-punching option.
I'll keep my eye out for it. Sucks to have a bike stolen...much moreso for a sweet ass bike like that.
This brings up something that's been on my mind all month. I've seen this dude riding around on a sparkling new 2006 Lemond who is...just obviously not the owner. I've seen him twice now, and I just kinda want to be like, "Hey...I'll give you $100 for that bike." What is the proper protocol for this sort of thing?

Yeah, I was trying not to succumb to the homicidal demon of vengeance tearing at the last remaining fine thread of civility I have within me...
As for the new bike dude....ride with him, chat him up, see what the deal is. Everyone loves to hear how others lust for their bikes, tends to open up the legit types. I've been surprised by some folks - I think I've only been right in my assumptions once out of at least 16 or 17 sightings of those I thought were felons out there poopin' on someone else's dream. Could be your guy is a shitbag - or not. Never hurts to ask, right? Some of the new Lemonds are pretty inexpensive as well - Freewheel is a big Lemond dealer and I was really surprised at how cheap some of the models were.
I just know I hate thieves - and hope this one comes to visit me at work (at the Men's Jail). I'd be so happy to make certain he got all sorts of individualized attention. I just want my bike back in the condition I left it in - I could mostly forgive all if that were to happen....
who am I kiddin'?
Thanks for the extra eyes out there. Call the cops if you see it - and feel free to contact me as well.
