Logging miles cycled is kinda a pain with normal map websites, via a smart phone. Doesn't allow much flexibility and I am using a ton of other apps for tasks more critical.
I'd prefer a cycling app that will log my route, or allow me to use a more smartphone friendly interface to chart where I have cycled.
Anyone use their andriod for this purpose and not wear down the battery within a couple hours?

CycloPath has a new mobile app in beta. I am not sure all that it does, but I have heard a little about it.

I think battery drain is going to happen if you're running a lot of apps, GPS, etc. but I know some people that have used My Tracks.

I want to thank everyone for their help and suggestions on this thread.
Mytracks is easy on the battery, plus it doesn't crash. Yet routes I take weekly, mapping with gps has indicated they are.double the distance. Therefore I am cycling more than I suspected.
Downloaded cyclopath, and while google maps is absolute crap for cycling, I am flabbergasted by the quality of cyclopaths projected routes.
I thought cycling in Eagan would be begging for a death sentence. I appears to have more options than Eden prairie!

I have been using Map My Ride, which is okay. It seems to have trouble maintaining a GPS signal so the route isn't always accurate. That could be my phone though.

I need a smarter phone in order to do this.

I don't know what phone you have, but I have a samsung galaxy 2. I was using cyclopath in chanhassen and it completely sent me on a goose chase. Literally I don't think certain neighborhoods have been mapped for GPS. Googlemaps couldn't pinpoint where the hell I was.

I use Endomondo and the main thing I like is it pauses when you are motionless.
