One thing that I think keeps getting missed in all the coverage of this tragic accident, is why the Minnikada golf club wont allow a side walk or path to be put along that stretch of Excelsior blvd. In Portland, OR the had people who ride bikes get in a cab of a truck to learn how to stay out of truckers' blind spots. In Minneapolis Saint Paul, drivers of motor vehicles are not prosecuted when they hit and kill people riding bicycles.

Yeah, that pissed me off too. He makes it sound like they have no desire to actually punish the killer - just to identify them. I mean, I guess unintentional makes it manslaughter instead of homicide, but isn't that still something that we consider bad? Isn't Jimmy still dead, regardless of intention? Isn't it a felony to flee the scene of a fatal accident?
