Cranksgiving 2012

Sunday, November 18th 2:00PM – 6:00PM • Minneapolis, MN

Everyone’s favorite annual ride and race to support local food shelters that host delicious thanksgiving meals. There will be prizes for the big winners, a plethora of swag from a growing list of event sponsors including Knog, The Hub, Birchwood Cafe, Angry Catfish and many more.

Meet at Gold Medal Park at 2pm and visit local grocers and co-ops to collect food items to prepare a Thanksgiving feast! Bring a bike, a bag or trailer to haul the goods, some cash to procure said goods, and a lock. Race at 3.

Event Organizers will hand out manifests & envelopes that identified the stops of ride (selected grocery stores & markets around MPLS along with a few pit stops and other surprises). You can team up or ride solo and choose your route, any route. Routes are roughly 15-20 miles.

Your goal is to ride to each site and buy food items from the ‘Cranksgiving Shopping List’ which identifies different thanksgiving foods that the sponsoring shelter has suggested…. It is up to you how much food you pick up; some people stay lightweight and pick up the beans, gravy mix, noodles, etc; other will go for gold and buy Turkeys and sack of potatoes!! Last year, riders spent between $10 and $100 on shopping list items.

Awards to: “Most Generous” (who spends the most), “Biggest Haul” (who carries the most weight), 1st, 2nd, 3rd Women & Men.

All donated food will go to Sisters Camelot for their Thanksgiving meal.

Hang out at Sisters Camelot afterwards; there will be treats and hots drinks.
